Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM for short) features simple and strong structure, high reliability and high efficiency, and thus has great application potential. As the core of switched reluctance motor drive system, the controller must realize some basic function, such as creating position loop, subdividing the angle and calculating the rotor position。 And also, it has to realize the phase current closed-loop, speed closed-loop, torque closed-loop, and other functions. All these missions result that the hardware and the software is so complex to reduce the reliability.This article researches the control needs and implementation methods of the control modes (CCC, CVC and APC modes) for the SRM. And then, with some proper simplifications, the control needs can be classified as commutation logic and phase shift logic, etc. Some of these logic functons can be completed by hardware. On this foundation, we can design the controller with hybrid hardware structure of microprocessor and complex programmable logic device. Most of the control logic, such as commutation logic, can be integrated into CPLD, which is called as logic controller. Thus, missions of the processer are just controlling the run mode of logic controller and assisting it. This design take full advantages of the resources of CPLD, lead to more concise hardware circuit, reduces the processing assignment and software complexity.Above on, this paper further studies the speed closed-loop algorithm of SRM. SRM has a serious problem of nonlinear characteristics which prevent SRM drive system from getting high performance. On the bases of variable universe adaptive fuzzy control, this article designs a single variable fuzzy controller with two dimensional using speed deviation and warp speed rate. And then, using improved method of choosing opening angle, the output of fuzzy controller is allocated to two parts, one for current reference, and the other for advanced opening angle. That’s the CCC and APC compound control method.The structure of the SRM controller is simple and reliable. At the same time, it’s flexible and convenient to control. Through Simulation Analysis, this solution has nice static characteristic but also well dynamic response. So the essay is of comparatively high theoretical and practical value.
