With the rapid economic and technology development, more and more SuperHigh-rise structures are built in our country. They provided us not only comfortablelife and working place but effectively saving the valuable land resources. However, inrecently, how to evaluate the performance of Super High-rise structures underearthquakes becomes research focus.Since the foundation of the First National Super High-rise Earthquake-proofConstruction Review Committee of Experts in1998, a lot of regulations and codeshave been made, and the Super High-rise earthquake-proof management system hasbeen gradually developed.Performance based seismic design theory has become a new seismic developmentdirection, also in the future will occupy an increasingly important position. PushoverAnalysis method is the important mean based on the performance design, therefore,the investigation and research of the method is significance.Based on the sum-up of producing causes and applications of the Super High-risestructures, and the summarized basic principles and methods of Performance-Basedseismic design, the basic principle, implementation process and advantages anddisadvantages of the static elastic-plastic analysis are firstly investigated. And thenthe improved method based on the "four levels" seismic design idea is proposed bystudying of the seismic design ideas and methods of the slight out-of-extent SuperHigh-rise frame Strucrures, and the proposed method is examined by severalcalculation examples. In this paper, for the conditions that can not meet therequirements of seismic performance, the strength grade of concrete, beamreinforcement ratio and weak layer column section size of several parameters whichhave affections on the seismic performance are considered, and a way to realize therequirements based on the performance level is discussed. The aims of this paper is toprovide more precise design methods for the similar projects or convenient, faster andtargeted recommendations for the "design-Evaluation-modify-Assessment of" processof the Performance-Based seismic design, moreover, it makes the Super High-risebuilding checking works more facility and promotes the application ofPerformance-Based seismic design method in practical projects.
