In recent years, with the development of automobile industry, the aggravation ofenergy crisis,and the emission regulations being more stricter, higher requirementshave been put forward for the economy, power, emissions of internal combustionengine. So the development of internal combustion engine tends to be the direction ofhigh strength and high-performance. The strengthening of the index increased willinevitably lead to increasing the heat load of the internal combustion engine. Theunreasonable heat load will cause a series of serious consequences in the internalcombustion engine. The flow and heat transfer of Cooling water jacket directlyinfluence the engine’s cooling efficiency, heat distribution and high temperature parts’heat load. Therefore, heat transfer study on internal combustion engine’s coolingwater and high temperature parts plays an important role in internal combustionengine’s design development.In this paper, a heat transfer study was conducted on an gasoline engine’s coolingwater and cylinder block based on the method of fluid-solid coupling. This articleinclude the following research work and innovation points:Firstly, the cooling water jacket was calculated based on the CFD simulationmethod. It can be used to evaluate the cooling liquid flow and cooling characteristicsby analyzing its pressure loss, flow field distribution, flux distribution, heat transfercoefficient distribution, temperature gradient and distribution. The results show thatthe water jacket has a good cooling uniformity, and strong cooling ability.Then, the engine’s one-dimensional performance simulation model wasestablished and the transient temperature curve and pressure curve of the gas fuel incylinder was got. Combining with the experience formula, the different section inaxial direction of cylinder hole wall thermal boundary conditions was obtained.Finally, the CAD models of the cylinder block was established by using thethree-dimensional modeling software Pro/E and it’s top-down and parameterizedmodeling ideas. Then the finite element model of the cylinder block was created insoftware Hypermesh. Using the mapping function of AVL-Fire, coupled theinterface’s heat exchange boundary between the cooling water jacket and the cylinder block. Then calculated the temperature field distribution of cylinder block by writtenfinite element program. Furthermore, the heat stress of cylinder block was calculatedthrough the order coupling finite element method with the load of cylinder block’snodes temperature. The result shows that the heat load of the cylinder block meets thedesign requirements.
