With the popularity of natural gas and larger scale of natural gas distribution network, natural gas business department have to optimize natural gas pipeline system to increase profits and utilization of gas network. Since the natural gas system project requires enormous investment, it is not easily rebuilded or expanded after the project was completed. Therefore, the design of natural gas network need to be rationalized. The thesis mainly focuses on optimization of urban natural gas network, based on graph theory and theoretical analysis&application of gas network CAD. Firstly, Improved Dijkstra Algorithm is Proposed, and it’s compared to the traditional Dijkstra algorithm. It realized reasonable selection of gas source node in urban natural gas network, and the effectiveness of Improved Dijkstra Algorithm has been proved by analyzing simulating case of the changqing gas network field experiment data. Secondly, according to being given the geopolitical location of gas source and consumer, layout of urban natural gas network is optimized by Limited Minimum Spanning Tree Algorithm, and the practicability of Limited Minimum Spanning Tree Algorithm is confirmed by simulating case of the changqing gas network field experiment data. Finally, Improved Dijkstra Algorithm and Limited Minimum Spanning Tree Algorithm are applied to optimization of urban natural gas network, and optimal system of urban natural gas network with theory of software engineering and technology of mixing programming has been developed.Optimal system of urban natural gas network can effectively realize optimizing selection of gas source node in urban natural gas network and layout optimization of gas network by analyzing field experiment data, which provides guidance for assessing and forecasting investment of urban natural gas system engineering.
