Producing and using of the traditional structure material may cause awful problems such as excessive consumption of resources, energy shortage and environment pollution, and the use of cement and concrete is one of the important reasons which may lead to the problems above. For dealing with the problems above, the production technology of concrete must be transformed from the extensive production and management, which is so uncultured that must depend on consuming large amount of sources and energy, to the way of hi-technology and sustainable, which could save much sources and energy, reduce the environment’s burden and maintain ecological balance, and the recycled concrete is just adapt to the development of this new way of production and management. This article has research the different physical properties of coarse aggregate of the recycled concrete which is composed with gravel or pebble, mainly include:bibulous rate, moisture rate, apparent density, packing density, and the mechanical properties of recycled concrete in the conditions of11different kinds of coarse aggregate replacement rate of gravel or pebble(the replacement rate varies from0%to100%and the Differential is10%), mainly include:compressive resistance of cube, compressive resistance of prism, Poisson’s ratio, elastic modulus, flexural strength. These reserches are greatly valluable for promoting the research and application of the recycled concrete. The test has showed that the bibulous rate and moisture rate of the recycled gravel coarse aggregate and recycled pebble coarse aggregate is much bigger than that of the natural coarse aggregate, and be reverse of the apparent density and packing density. The concrete cube and prism specimens of the recycled gravel coarse aggregate and recycled pebble coarse aggregate have similar breaking process and failure to that of the natural coarse aggregate. The coarse aggregate replacement rate may affect the properties of the concrete such as cube compressive strength and prism compressive strength, elastic modulus and flexural strength, but not much to the Poisson’s ratio.
