Our country is a great nation with five thousand years’history of civilization and traditional architecture-culture. It’s an important task for us to construct modern buildings with Chinese characteristics when we explore and manifest the architectural culture. This task has a great relationship with the issue that how we inherit and absorb features of traditional architecture-culture.After21st century,most people have accepted the concept of sustainable-development inhabited environment. In fact, the debate of how modern buildings would affect environment has begun1960s and1970s. At the same time, new conceptions related to environment have also been created such as Ecology Architecture, Green Architecture and Sustainable-development Architecture. In all of these notions, Green Architecture is the most popular one.Mongols are usually considered as the son of nature for the reason that they can preserve the harmonious relationship with nature. Mongolian yurt usually sits on beautiful grassland harmoniously. The natural beauty of Mongolian yurts is reflected on interdependence with nature. The interdependence doesn’t exist only in forms, but also in the relationship with the nature, which means architecture can absorb strength from nature. At the same time, the nature could also get power from architecture.Architecture style and traditional ethnic culture are summarized firstly with the introduction how regional culture affects them both. Then the history process of Mongolian architecture style and decoration is summed up. Based on research materials, the characteristics of Mongolian architecture decoration reflected in building structure, style, color and pattern are concluded. The combination of traditional element and modern element is analyzed. These architectures themselves are the inheritance of Mongolian culture. This culture evolve itself in the long history combined the conflict with alien cultures. It’s a culture treasure for all of Chinese.Mongolian architectures contain too much traditional culture, and it has gone far away from the sense of modern. But contributed to the evolution of Mongolian architecture style, its artistic shape has break the limitation of traditional design to form the new aesthetic feeling combined with modern and tradition. This design innovation has become an indispensable component today, in the trend of sustainable development and harmony with nature.
