With the rapid development of economy of Hunan Province, infrastructure constructions grow vigorously, the sand requirements have constantly increased. Self-sailing and discharging sand carrier vessel will have broad prospects for its advantage of flexibility and shortcut. However, the type of this ship is complex, which generates the ship dimensions have no standards, this will seriously influence the efficiency of passing the ship lock. To optimize the capacity structure of inland river, to promote the improvement of ship technology, to improve the utilization of the waterway and lock navigation facilities, to take full advantage of water transport, and build a safe, convenient, green, modern and efficient inland waterway, the standardization of self-sailing and discharging sand carrier vessel is imminent.Ship technical and economic evaluation is a technology infrastructure work of ship standardization, which has important meaning to the ship standardization. Nowadays, ship technical and economic evaluation only considers the initial stability as the technical criterion, due to the specific structure of self-sailing and discharging sand carrier vessel, its intact stability has more influence on ship stability. Therefore, how to bring in intact stability requires immediately solution. Common technical and economic evaluation of load type ship determines several main tonnages as evaluation target, then makes main dimensions series. However, this method exist certain shortages, so this paper brings in the concept of cargo dead weight extent to propose its main dimensions series, which proposes new ideas to ship technical and economic evaluation.First, this paper aims at the characteristics of self-sailing and discharging sand carrier vessel, confirms the key point of ship technical and economic performance and discusses the method of technical and economic evaluation of this ship. Based on the existing ship analysis, a computing platform of intact stability is established, then this paper sets up technical and economic evaluation platform. Finally, an example is given to verify the feasibility of the proposed method, which uses multi-objective optimization and graphs design method to propose the main dimensions series of self-sailing and discharging sand carrier vessel of Hunan Provinces.
