| Water lubricated stern tube bearing is an important component of marine propulsion. Compared with ordinary oil lubricated bearings, the water lubricated stern tube bearings is basically non-pollution, safe, low cost, less auxiliary equipments and easy to use and maintenance. Water-lubrication stern tube rubber bearing is a kind of water-lubrication bearing. Rubber is the main component of bearing and it is used for supporting between the shaft and the shaft sleeve. As the the development of material science,adding additives in the rubber can improve the property of the bearing. It has good friction and wear property,high elastic and low vibration can be also inherited. Carrying out the research of water-lubrication stern tube rubber bearing has important theoretical and engineering application significance.In this paper, the new type of water-lubrication stern tube rubber bearing is taken as the study object and the tribological bench test and the experiment of squeal of water lubrication stern tube rubber bearing is carried out to discuss the tribological characteristics and the mechanism of squeal of water lubrication stern tube rubber bearing. The new type of water-lubrication stern tube rubber bearing and the ordinary NBR bearing are compared and analyzed. The main work and research conclusions are as follows.1. Introduce the material preparation and selection of the new type of water-lubrication stern tube rubber bearing. The principle and application of the rubber blending,the basic composition of the new type of water-lubrication stern tube rubber bearing and the advantages and disadvantages when rubber blend with plastic are discussed. In the end,some problems in need of solution of the water-lubricated bearings is put forward.2. The bench test result of the rubber bearings indicate:Under the identical specific pressure, when low speed, the friction coefficient drops suddenly as the speed rises; when middle or high speed, the friction coefficient drops slowly or tends to be steady. Under the identical rotational speed, the friction coefficient is reducing with the increase of specific pressure. Under the identical temperature, the friction coefficient rises as the temperature rises; when middle or high temperature, the friction coefficient rises suddenly; when low temperature, the friction coefficient rises slowly. Besides the individual operating mode, under the identical kind of operating mode, friction coefficient of the new type of water-lubrication stern tube rubber bearing is low, and it even reaches the standard of MIL-B-17901C. The overall evaluation, the new type of water-lubrication stern tube rubber bearing is the good performance material for bearing.3. The vibration amplitude of the new type of water-lubrication stern tube rubber bearing is obviously lower than plain NBR tail bearing. In order to study the mechanism of squeal of water lubrication stern tube rubber bearing, the experiment has carried out to study the mechanism of squeal of water lubrication stern tube rubber bearing. The result shows that the critical speed rises as the the temperature rises and the critical speed of the new type of water-lubrication stern tube rubber bearing is obviously lower than plain NBR tail bearing. The new type of water-lubrication stern tube rubber bearing has good performance when the specific pressure is lower than0.70MPa, so it has good function of noise reduction and anti vibration. |
