As one of the key equipments of a marine propulsion system, Stern tube bearings play an important role in supporting shaft and propeller. According to the different lubricating medium, stern bearing can generally be divided into two kinds of oil and water lubrication. Ship oil lubricated stern tube bearing is complex in structure, oil leakage and pollution and vibration noise and other defects, and adopts the water lubrication can well avoid these problems.However, due to water’s low viscosity, which makes the water lubricated rubber bearing’ capacity is low. On the other hand, the rubber material is a kind of high elasticity, nonlinear, high temperature resistant ability of poor material. Therefore the development of water lubricated rubber bearings structure-heat-flow field coupling research, improving bearing lubrication performance, prolongs the service life, reducing vibration and noise, and the realization of " green shipping " has the important theory significance and project application value.The water lubricated rubber bearing with circumferential as the research object, using the finite element method of ADINA water lubricated stern tube bearing elastohydrodynamic lubrication problem of numerical analysis, reveals its lubrication regularity, discusses the bearing structure and operation conditions on the lubrication performance. The main results are as follows:1Establishing ship water lubricated rubber bearing’ plane CSD, CFD and TFSI models, which includes defining the fluid and solid coupling surface and the thermal field setting and control.2) Water lubricated rubber bearings with the increase of the width of the maximum pressure sink downward trend, with the rubber layer thickness increases, the largest bearing pressure bearing clearance increases, when the bearing clearance is less than or equal to1mm, the largest bearing pressure decreased, while the bearing clearance is greater than1mm, the largest bearing pressure tends to smooth, changed little; the highest temperature increases with the increase of the width of the bearing water tank and decreased significantly, with the rubber layer thickness increases, decreases with the bearing clearance. 3) Rubber bearing with water lubrication pressure with eccentricity increases, but is not the existence of a linear relationship, but in the eccentric ratio is less than0.6before the pressure rise slowly, when the eccentricity ratio is greater than0.6, the increased rate of pressure change. The maximum temperature varying with eccentricity curve and pressure distribution curve is similar to the maximum. The greatest bearing pressure with deflection angle decreases, but the decreasing rate is small. The maximum temperature of the bearing is similar to change.4) When the speed is more than400r/min when the elastic hydrodynamic lubrication condition, bearing the maximum pressure and temperature is decreased as the speed increases. Change bearing axial velocity, the bearing pressure distribution basically unchanged. Bearing pressure and maximum temperature of bearing water temperature increasing.5) The stern bearing bench test shows:in the elastic hydrodynamic lubrication condition, bearing friction coefficient is small. At the same time, along with the increase of the shaft speed, bearing friction coefficient decreased first, after a small increase. Lubrication outlet temperature with the shaft speed is increased, but increased with smaller amplitude.
