The research of this paper is divided into two parts: the compositecylinder and the composite gas cylinder. For the composite cylinder, static analysis and quasi-static analysisare conducted. Firstly, the finite element models of composite cylinders, with and without end reinforced layers, are established by the ANSYSfinite element software in this paper. The axial compression modulus ofthese two types of cylinders is analyzed under the same compression loadbut different wound angles. The distribution of the radial displacementand interlaminar shear stress of the cylinder with end reinforced layersare also studied, and its failure mode is predicted. In order to resist axialcompression, small wound angle should be adopted. Secondly, axialquasi-static compression tests are taken for the composite cylinder withprevious crack, their crushing forms are observed and theload-displacement curve is obtained. Then, based on ANSYS/LS-DYNA,the gradually damage finite element model for axial compression of thecomposite cylinder is built. The cursing forms and the load-displacement curves are simulated by the quasi-static analysis which is conducted inLS-DYNA. The finite element results and test results are compared andthey fit well with each other, relatively. For the composite gas cylinder, stress and strain analysis and burstanalysis are conducted. In this paper, finite element model of a compositegas cylinder is established by ABAQUS finite element software, withconsideration that both heads are helically wound and their wound angleand wound thickness vary with different parallel circle radius. Stress ofthe composite gas cylinder and PEEQ of its liner under different workingconditions after autofrettage treatment are studied, the stress distributionis assessed by the DOT CFFC standard and it is proved to be reasonable, the effective range of autofrettage treatment is confirmed. According tothe maximum stress criterion and the maximum strain criterion, theprediction of burst pressure is conducted, and the maximum straincriterion is proved to be more accurate.
