In order to model and study the seismic pounding and analysis the pounding effects of the high-pier bridge, a3D niulanjiang big bridge model was established by the finite element software OpenSEES. Some factors of the high-pier bridge, acceleration and axial force of the girders, bearing deformation, displacement on the top of pier, internal force of the pier bottom has been studied under the condition of uniform excitation and multiple support excitation. Also the factors has been studied with a SMA pseudo rubber metal damper under the condition of uniform support excitation compared without the damper. Through the analyses, we can study the influence of traveling wave effect to the seismic pounding effects of the high-pier bridge with a SMA pseudo rubber metal damper and the influence of SMA pseudo rubber metal damper to the seismic pounding effects of the high-pier bridge.
