In the recent years, as economy’s development increasing, the process of urbanization constantly accelerating, central districts in big cities of our country are pushing forward to outspread apace and a large number of ultra-high-rise buildings are constructed. For ultra-high-rise building’s vertical extending characteristic, its traffic organization is main in elevating. Elevator as passenger traffic’s basic carrier takes on the whole building’s people transportation. Because it takes up a lot of space in core tube and cost in investment, whether its internal traffic organization and elevator dispatching are appropriate will not only affect to the operational efficiency of the whole building and also relate to the core tube’s intensive use and cost control and so on. There are a lot of researches on form and plan design in architecture, technology in construct but lack of researches on internal vertical traffic organization, elevator dispatching and its space design. During the process of designing architectures usually make up the idea with experience but short for guidance.Focus on architecture and meet the demands for passenger transportation, the paper studies all kinds of traffic organization methods and dispatching patterns through computer simulation, data statistics and case study. Base on the study, the paper will summarize the general rules and methods of elevator space design. Hoping that the research and analysis combining theory with practice can offer guidance in ultra-high-rise building designing and some others related with it.
