Human beings are always nagged by the shortage of energy and contamination ofenvironment, and energy-saving and emission-reduction are hot issues recently, thenmagnetizers have been utilized in diesel engine for energy-saving and emission-reduction. Atpresent, the electromagnetism and permanent magnetism type are common structure formagnetizer:1)The permanent magnetism type magnetizer is restructured by permanent magnet,and the magnetic field of permanent magnetism type magnetizer is inhomogeneous, themaximum value of magnetic field is used for the testing results analysis in a test;2)A highfrequency and direct current magnetic field can be produced by the electromagnetism typemagnetizer, high frequency magnetic field used for clean up the dirt of a pipe, but has neverbeen applied in diesel engine domain; The main application for direct current magnetic indiesel engine is desulfurization, but the relation between magnetic field and energy-savingand emission-reduction has not been considered, due to the maximum magnetic field value is17.3mT and too low.The thesis of this paper is to develop a magnetizer with controlled magnetic fieldhomogeneous, and applied this magnetizer for diesel oil magnetization. The test results showthat the maximum fuel saving ratio is4.17%, and5.85%for NO emission reduction.Furthermore, the magnetic field value is accurately and adjustable, and the magnetic field ishomogeneous and stable, the maximum magnetic field value of magnetizer is300mT and costless than other magnetizers. This paper conjecture the best way to magnetizing diesel oil forenergy-saving and emission-reduction, promoting the research of energy-saving andemission-reduction on the magnetizer for diesel engine.Firstly, the paper represents the already existing magnetizing theory for diesel enginemagnetizer from macroscopic and microscopic view, cites the flexible of magnetic fieldtheory to explain the relationship between the effect of energy-saving and emission-reductionand the three factors of magnetizing, such as magnetic intensity, fluent speed and rang ofmagnetic field. Forecasting the variety for superficial area of diesel oil molecules, and the variety for parameters such as power consumption and smoke intensity etc., after magnetizing,which establishes a foundation for the follow-up analysis of testing results.Secondly, developing a kind of magnetizer with controlled magnetic fieldhomogeneous, the design of structure, calculation of magnetic field, selection of material, andprocess of manufacture have been discussed, and raised a empirical formula for magnetizerresistance calculation. A controlled closed loop circuit has been designed, in order toadjusting the magnetic field accurately and shielding the interference of magnetizer to circuit.Thirdly, the values of air-gap magnetic field and the distribution of magnetic field havebeen simulated by ANSYS software, moreover, measured the values of air-gap magnetic fieldby teslameter, the results show that: the theoretical results,the simulation results and themeasurement results of air-gap magnetic field fit very well.At last, establishing a test-rig for investigate the effect of magnetizer for energy-savingand emission-reduction. The test-rig connected and controlled the diesel engine tomagnetizer, dynamometer, electronic scale, opacimeter, and exhaust gas analyzer etc.efficiently, measured the relationship between the load properties of diesel engine and theparameters such as oil consumption, smoke intensity and exhaust gas(NO) etc..Depicting therelation schemas between the magnetic flux intensity and oil saving ratio, eject smoke ratio,hydrocarbon and nitric oxide of exhaust gas etc. The results show that: For the light loads,the effect of magnetizing is significant, oil consumption and smoke intensity increasingly,but the content of NO decreased and maximum decreasing ratio is5.85%; for the mediumloads, efficiency of oil consumption is significant and the ratio value is4.17%, othercontents change unconstitutionality; for heavy load, the effects of magnetizing on oilconsumption, smoke intensity and NO are unconstitutionality. Besides, analysis therelationship between the magnetizing time of diesel oil, the time of magnetized diesel oilarrived in combustion chamber and the energy-saving and emission-reduction, moreover,measuring the surface force of magnetized oil and un-magnetized oil, uniting the flexible ofmagnetic field theory and the variety of surface force to explain the mechanism of energy-saving and emission-reduction for diesel engine evidently, then predicts the best wayof magnetizing.
