Uneven settlement of buildings is a common accident in civil engineeringprojects, a serious uneven settlement could cause the inclination and deformation ofbuildings, resulting in the redistribution of internal forces of the superstructure,eventually leading to cracking or even damage. The superstructure of buildings isconnected to the foundation and interaction, and uneven settlement of buildings iscauced during this interaction process. Due to the complexity of the mechanicalproperties of masonry materials, it is difficult to find masonry structures beconsidered in the study of the interaction of upper structure and foundation. For thisreason, the interaction of foundation and superstructure of masonry structure will beresearhed based on the finite element method.Firstly, the form of cracks in buildings with uneven settlement destruction willbe introduced, and it is considered that different settlement results in differentfracture morphology. The main reasons for uneven settlement will be expounded,including unreasonable construction, unreasonable design and unreasonable use. Maintypes of analysis methods of interaction in the current domestic and foreign will besummarized, among which the substructure method and the finite element methodhave been more applied to the interaction analysis of frame structure, and the methodused in masonry structures is lagging behind, most of the analytical methods ofmasonry structures are based on the theory of elasticity. Uneven settlement processingmethods will be put forward, including the reinforcement of the foundation andsuperstructure reinforcement.Secondly, the modeling method of the finite element analysis of masonrystructure, the selection of the constitutive curve of the material and non-linearconvergence criteria and so on will be explored and studied. The nature of the threeunits used in this numerical simulation will be introduced.Thirdly, this thesis emphasizes to set up models of the masonry structure withbottom frame, which based on the finite element analysis software ANSYS.Influences of changes in different floors of wall strength and wall holes filled ondifferent floors on uneven settlement will be analyzed, both considered the centralsink and ends sink. The analysis showed that increase wall strength and fill the firstfloor wall holes can reduce the uneven foundation settlement in the two sinks, and the increase of strength of the first floor wall can get the best effect in improving thedifference of foundations’ settlement. At the same time, changing the strength of thesuperstructure walls and fill the holes of the first floor walls can cause the change ofinternal forces of the column and beam components of bottom frame, it will beanalized in the paper.Lastly, a case of a bottom frame structure of uneven settlement will beintroduced, the causes of the accident will be analyzed, the reinforcement processingmethod will be introduced, and strengthen the rigidity of the superstructure in theincident reinforcement works will be described in detail, which provides anexperience when deal with similar incidents.
