All of asphalt pavement design methods in our country are based on MultilayerElastic System theory, which is according to the occurrence of the material’s fatigueto decide the durable years. And this method includes two aspects in major: thecomposition of pavement structure and pavement’ thickness design. The designparameters are set value in the standard; however, the parameters have different levelsof variability in fact. In the same time, due to the inhomogeneity of the material, thedeviation of the construction, road’s environment and loading conditions within theuseful life changes, pavement structure design parameters also have certain variability. So, in order to make the design method closer to the actual situation, the method isnecessary to transform from the determinate type to the probabilistic, which is relatedto the reliability.In the existing pavement structural reliability analysis, most of analyses ar-e using the Monte Carlo simulation. However, Response Surface method has s-ome advantages over Monte Carlo method. Therefore, the paper analyzes the r-eliability of the asphalt concrete pavement structure by the response surface m-ethod in the ANSYS.The main framework of this paper as follows:Firstly, based on the summary of the analysis in the reliability of asphaltpavement structure at home and abroad, the paper compare the Monte Carlo m-ethod and Response Surface using in the plate, then analyzed the pros and co-ns of the two methods and submit conclusions. Then I simulate the asphalt pa-vement in the ANSYS and use the Response Surface method to analyze its rel-iability;Secondly, I use the optimization function in ANSYS to optimize pavementstructure, and then compare the result with that in Asphalt Pavement DesignSoftware;Finally, the paper also proposed a reliability prediction method based on t-he gray prediction theory.
