Research On Modern Urban Waterfront Functional Orientation,Development And Construction

Hydrophilicity is an inherent characteristics born with human. beings, and the waterfront also has an intrinsic and lasting appeal to humans. Waterfront area is a kind of valuable resources of the city, and challenging opportunities for the development as well.Since the industrial revolution, urban economic restructuring, social structure transformation and urban suburbanization led to urban decay. In the growing ecological concerns and sustainable development of the natural environment under the influence of ideology, the unique position of the urban waterfront area is drawing people’s attention. Reconstruction and Development for Waterfront area is a worldwide current and trend, which has been regarded as priorities to urban planning and economic development.In this paper, through the research about the functional exploration and development and construction of waterfront area in Baoshan, Shanghai, looking forward to providing guidance and reference for the future development and construction of the waterfront area.Chapter I is the Introduction, which mainly introduces the research background and research framework, the basic theoretical foundation of the paper,and relevant research findings in order to provide the direction of this paper.Chapter II focused on analysis of the waterfront development at home and abroad functional orientation and development mode of operation, which provide experience of the practice of development and construction: Each successful waterfront development, its function is to set travel, leisure, cultural, commercial, residential and other functions into an integrated whole.The third chapter is the status quo for the Baoshan situation, from the regional pattern level, the regional accessibility level, the development and construction level, and cultural dimensions of four levels of content analysis and noted that the current waterfront Baoshan four major problems exist:spatial segmentation and the coexistence of landscape fragmentation, transportation system and hardware infrastructure lagging behind the overall planning and features of the waterfront development and the lack of soft power to enhance weak, for the following chapters feature waterfront location and pave the way for the development and construction.Chapter III is the status quo for the Baoshan situation, from the regional pattern level, the regional accessibility level, the development and construction level, and cultural level and noted that there are four major problems exist in current Baoshan waterfront:the coexistence of spatial segmentation and landscape fragmentation, the lag of transportation system and the hardware facilities, the lack of overall planning and character development, and the weak power to enhance the soft power of the waterfront. This chapter is aimed at paving the way of the location and the development and construction of waterfront in the later sections.Chapter IV is an analysis of the development of the waterfront and the historical background of the development process of the evolution of the industry functions from Baoshan level, Shanghai level and global level. And this part focuses on the functional orientation and the theme of Baoshan waterfront spaces.Chapter V describes the follow-up Baoshan waterfront development model is a complex development and coexistence of multiple use. And a follow-up development strategy and the development of protection mechanism has been provided.Chapter VI provided a strategic vision of waterfront development in Baoshan: Binjiang District, the heart of driving; district development vision; external linkage mechanism and the economic development after Expo.Chapter VII summarizes the development of modern urban waterfront basic experience and conclusions. Furthermore, this paper gives some strategies for the further development: unity of thinking, to enhance the waterfront development of theoretical research; unified planning, rational design of waterfront planning programs; unified designning, determine the development of thoughtful planning; unified management, the formation of strong regional appeal.
