Study On Open Space Design Of Urban Waterfront Business District

With the rapid development of economy and continuous progress of urbanization,China’s urban appearance is undergoing considerable changes.As the major component of urban functional area,business district formulates unique spatial form because of its special functions.From certain sense,it represents the main appearance of cities,even determines the development trend of urban form.Waterfront space is the important open space in cities,whose development will impact on the cities’ historical process.Under the impact of global economic integration,the competition gets fiercer and fiercer.The design of urban waterfront business district not simply pursues the planning of material spatial form,but more focuses on people.That means to consider people’s scale,emotion,demands,interactions and other aspects.Hence,it has strong practical significance to study the open space of urban waterfront business district.This thesis has five parts:the first is the introduction,which introduced the research background and reasons,classified relevant conceptions,pointed out the purpose and significance of study,and elaborated research methods and framework.The second part is the basic preparation of study.It firstly introduced the relevant theories;and then introduced the typical cases on waterfront business district from home and abroad;at last,it summarized the enlightenments of theoretical study and practical development.The third part and the fourth part are the main body of the thesis.The third part explained the main study target from three aspects;the fourth part summarized the construction principle and strategy of the open space in waterfront business district.The fifth part is the practical application of this research.Based on the introduction of the construction and development in business district of Binjiang new city in Changsha,it proposed the design strategy for relevant open space.This thesis constructed the open space of urban waterfront business district from three dimensions,including the spatial form in macro-level,plan and control in mid-level and environmental design in micro-level.It has some practical significance for constructing the open space of waterfront business district which is suitable for China’s conditions.
