The castellated portal frame of light-weight steel is a new type of structure in which the castellated components is used in portal frame structure, combined with their advantages respectively. In the castellated portal frame, the joint is an important component in this new structure, which make castellated beam and castellated column connect effectively, and it is critical to ensure the overall performance of structure.Based on the experimental study and the finite element analysis, the paper reveals the seismic performance and static performance of the castellated portal frame of light-weight steel joint.The experiment members include four castellated joints and one solid-web joint of original steel, keeping the expansion ratio unchanged, considering three vary parameters which are the connection form of joints, the joint region with setting stiffener and the distance from the center of hole to joint region. From the test, the deformation process, the cross-section strain distribution and the loading-displacement curve are obtained, and the influence of three parameters is analyzed. At the same time, through the contrasts between the castellated joints and the solid-web joint, the load-bearing capacity and stiffness of the joint are analyzed under static loads, and the energy dissipation, ductility and the ultimate bearing capacity are analyzed under cycle loads. Besides, the paper also compares with the test results combined with the finite element calculation methods on analysis ABAQUS software, expands the static properties and seismic behavior researches of the castellated nodes with varying parameters, in order to get more understanding for the castellated portal frame of light-weight steel joint.The mechanical behavior of the joint in the castellated portal frame of light-weight steel is pilot studied, which could provide reference for the fully applied of the castellated portal frame of light-weight.
