Global energy and environmental crisis have become more and more serious with thehigh-speed development of automobile industry. Mature technology of producing methanol bycoal, lower price and china’s abundant coal reserves, so methanol gasoline is considered to beone of ideal fuels which can address the issues of energy crisis and environmental pollution.This paper focuses on methanol gasoline (M85) and solve the problems of alcohol-oil layered,corrosivity, swelling property, vapor lock by adding a small amount of additives in methanolgasoline. High proportion of methanol gasoline can not be normal combustion in gasolineengines because of the small air fuel ratio. A converter is designed to expand the fuel injectionpulse width of the output of the electronic control unit in original gasoline engines, so that theelectronic controlled gasoline engine can work well by using high proportion of methanolgasoline. This paper studies the running performance of methanol gasoline (M85) in theelectronic controlled gasoline engine which includes fuel power, fuel economy and emission,also the paper studies the performance of the vehicle experiment.First of all, this thesis mainly studies experimental engine test bed in the specificapplication experimental study. The vehicle can achieve good performance of economic,dynamical and emission without changing its existing structure by computation and calibrationof the output duration of fuel injection in converter. This paper introduces the control ofelectronic control injection and effect of reconstruction of the engine electronic control fuelinjection control were evaluated. The experimental results shows little reduction in enginepower and engine torque which don’t influence vehicle performance and are enough to satisfydemand, but the decline rate is not big. Engine fuel consumption rate has the obvious rise, butequivalent specific fuel consumption of burning methanol gasoline M85in engine issignificantly lower than burning93#gas when it is converted the equivalent specific fuelconsumption. Then the cost of methanol gasoline is lower, so burning vehicle methanolgasoline can also improve its economy performance. This thesis detected conventionalemissions the results shows that the content of HO and CO fall by30%to60%, whileformaldehyde rise by42.8%.Secondly, the road contrast test were conducted between methanol gasoline andcorresponding grades of petrol to research its economy performance. The results shows thatfuel consumption of per hundred kilometers rise by36.67%by burning methanol gasoline M85compared with burning93#gas energy consumption of per hundred kilometers reduce by22.52%, vehicle traction rise by2.6%.F inally,some dynamic experiments were conducted in high altitude regions betweenmethanol gasoline and corresponding brand gasoline to research its performance in hypoxia area. The results shows that fuel consumption of per hundred kilometers rise by26.18%withburning methanol gasoline M85,energy consumption of per hundred kilometers fallby45.18%,vehicle traction rise by16.87%.The experiments found a good use of methanolgasoline applied in special areas.
