C-C Cold formed steel frame is a kind of structure which connecting two C Coldsteel with bolt in a way of “back-to back”, thus used in beams, columns and other basicmechanical component. Compare with other gate type steel frame, this structure havesome merits, such as light quality with lower price, good performance, quickly inworking, attractive and durable, have good economic efficiency and good prospects.Nowadays, there is almost no body study this frame’s whole seismic performance inchina and abroad, also there is little research results on the seismic performance for therelevant node, and there is no any special article in the current codes and specificationsto conduct its design and process.This paper apply the method of dynamic matrix displacement, calculate the naturalfrequency and vibration model of the nine of the steel frame which with the differentspan-depth and section combination, analysis the effects of the span-depth ratio to theframe’s natural frequency and the figure of vibration model, sums up the type of thefigure of vibration model, and the effects on the seismic performance of the beam andthe column.According to the calculate result of the dynamic matrix displacement method, select2typical models from the whole9models, ignore the effects of node connect, apply theFEA software ANSYS to analysis the modal of the frame, and compare with thecalculate result of the dynamic matrix displacement, get some conclusion, and they willbe have some reference sense to the project design and process.Based on the modal comparison result, chose one typical frame from it, andrespectively select the EL-Centro wave, TAFT wave and Wenchuan wave, systemlyanalysis the earthquake displacement dynamic response result under four cases whichincluding basic earthquake of intensity7, rare earthquake of intensity7, basicearthquake of intensity7and rare earthquake of intensity8, and get some useful conclusion.For the gusset plate thick of the above frame’s column-beam, beam-beam consideringtwo case:4.5mm&6.0mm. Input the working condition of rare earthquake of intensity8with TAFF wave, then analysis with non-linear EFA, and compare with the currentresearch results, study the hysteretic behavior of the node.Given the characteristic and the application scope for the FEA model in the dynamiccharacteristic analysis of the frame, and have guiding significance for the study of theframe structure’s dynamic characteristics.Given the value range of the gusset plate thick for the column-beam, beam-beam ofthe C-C Cold formed steel frame.
