The concrete filled steel tubular columns as a new structure of thehigh pier, the use of it is increasingly widespread in recent years, thestability and the ultimate bearing capacity of the structure has become akey factor in the control of design and construction. This paper make theconcrete filled steel tubular columns of10#high pier of the Laba bridge asthe research object, researched the ultimate bearing capacity of the concretefilled steel tubular columns by the ABAQUS, proved the characteristicsand the main influence factors of the concrete filled steel tubular columns,and proposed the analysis suggestions, the research results have importantpractical significance on the design and construction. The research contentsof this paper as follows:(1) Research the differences of the ultimate bearing capacity betweenthe concrete filled steel tubular columns and the concrete columns.(2)Research the influence of the construction deviation on the ultimate bearingcapacity of the concrete filled steel tubular columns.(3) Analyzed thechange of ultimate bearing capacity under the affected factors as the initialdefect, decorated tube, the diaphragm plate, pier weight and the rate of steel.(4) Analyzed and summarized the theoretical formula of the ultimatebearing capacity, and compared the result with the nonlinear beam-shellmodel.(5) Compared the ultimate bearing capacity results between thesolid element model and the beam-shell element model.This paper indicates that:(1) Compared to the concrete columns, theultimate bearing capacity of the concrete filled steel tubular columns haveimproved a lot.(2) The ultimate bearing capacity of the concrete filled steeltubular columns decreased gradually as the deviation increased.(3) Theinitial defect, pier weight and the rate of steel can affect the ultimate bearing capacity of concrete filled steel tubular columns in a large extent.(4) When the cross-section s length and width of decorated tube less than0.2m, the affected of the ultimate bearing capacity is not obvious, but whenthe cross-section s length and width greater than0.2m, the impact on theultimate bearing capacity is very greater.(5) The influence of diaphragmon the ultimate bearing capacity is very small.(6) The results of theultimate bearing capacity between the solid element model、the beam-shellelement model and the theoretical calculation is very closer.
