In steel structure of the building, the column foot connection is oneof the key parts that affects the main structure function, keeping steelstructure and foundation or pile cap effectively connected. Themechanical performance of its individual components affects themechanical properties of the column foot and steel structure.In this paper, the mechanical properties of rigid steel column foot tobe analyzed by the nonlinear finite element software. Discusses theinteraction among section of rigid steel column, pallet, stiffened plates,soleplate and anchor bolts. Their von mises stress have been charged bythe different axial force and moment. Simulate the flexural capacity andstiffness of the exposed-type rigid steel column foot connection, undervarious stiffener site, stiffener size, soleplate thickness, axial compressionratio, and so on. Sum up the data and formula to determine the degree of rigid connection of the column foot by the initial stiffness.
