| Steel dampers have widely used in new buildings and existing buildings for itsclear damping mechanism, superior performance of energy consumption, lessenvironmental impact, readily available producing materials and easily replacementafter earthquake.In this paper, the weakened ring steel damper and elliptic steel dampers were putforward based on the ring steel damper, relevant researches were did to analyze onpassive energy dissipation mechanism and the damping effect in seismic energydissipation structure. The following results were achieved through study:(1) A long strip of local weakened ring steel damper was designed based on thering steel damper and five species were made, good hysteretic behavior of the damperwas got from the low cycle reversed loading tests and the ABAQUS simulationanalysis: It is feasible to weak the local energy damper in the ring; The hystereticbehavior of the long strip local weakened ring damper is stable and the dissipationcapacity is good; Increasing the thickness of the steel plate under certain diameter anddecreasing the diameter under certain steel plate, the initial stiffnessã€the yield forceand the post-yield stiffness of the damper increased, the yield displacement decreasedand the equivalent damping ratio increased, its destruction also appeared earlier; Thesimulation analysis were in good agreement with experimental results.(2)The arc-shaped local weakened ring damper was designed, using theABAQUS to establish56groups of finite element analysis model, comparativeanalysis was did to study the impacts of the plate thickness, the diameter, the braceangle, the weaken forms and the weaken extent. The results showed that: localweakened ring damper has better energy consumption; local weaken form of arc-typeshould be used, local weaken extent should be controlled at20%to30%of the platewidth.(3)A new type of elliptic damper was designed based on ring damper, using theABAQUS to establish9groups of finite element analysis model, to study the impactsof heightã€thicknessã€arc depthã€plate width and local weaken. The results showed that:the hysteretic curve of elliptic damper is stable and full, and its plastic energydissipation capacity is strong. With the elliptic damper’s height decreases, the arc depth decreases or plate thickness increases, the initial stiffness of the elliptic dampers,yield stiffness and yield force increases, the yield displacement reduced; with the steelplate width increases, initial stiffness of the elliptic dampers, yield stiffness and yieldstrength increases, which has no effect on the yield displacement; the local weakenedelliptic ring damper has better performance of energy consumption than theun-weaken damper.(4)For a ultra-high-level framework-core wall structure in eight intensity zone,using the finite analysis software ETABS to study the safety performance of theultra-high-level framework-core tube structure with local weakened ring damper andelliptic dampers under multi-earthquake and rare earthquake. |
