Study on single-span and three-span suspension bridges is more than two-spansuspension bridges. Research on key problems of two-span steel box girdersuspension bridge is executed combined with the certain suspension bridge which isbeing designed in the Pearl River Basin. Static characteristic parameters of two-spansteel box girder suspension bridge are studied. The parameters involved are: the maincable sag ration,span ration of side span to mid-span, tower height,etc. All parameterscalculation and analysis is done by Midas Civil. At last, the reasonable parameters aredetermined. Several analytical methods of cable linear calculation are introduced inthe paper, such as Parabola method, sub-catenary. Improved analytical formula isderived based on sub-catenary, According to the rasised method, develop acorresponding program and calculate the cable liner, and compare calculation resultwith that of finite element method and parabola method. The results show that the theformula proposed is correct and the program is simple and results are accurate, theprogram is very convenient to engineering applications. Dynamic parameters analysisof two-span steel box girder suspension bridge are carrided out, such as ratio ofheight to width of steel box girder, ratio of height to span of steel box girder. some rulesare summarized. Finally, on the basis of the static parameters identified above, the main cableshape, the paper calculates seismic characteristics by Sap2000, futher verify theaccuracy of the static parameters and cable linear.
