The anti-buckling support, as a new kind of seismic energy dissipationmaterials, has large-scale used in home and abroad,at new buildings and existingbuildings seismic retrofit. The practice shows that it owns a good seismic energydissipation, and ease of installation,short construction period, suitable forlarge-scale use.The anti-buckling support has improved on the basis of the commonsupport,for the restrictions of external buckling restrained in yield but not bucklingunder Severe Earthquake. Regardless of the state of tension and compression,thesupport can yield at the total cross section with the fuller hysteresis curve,andstronger energy dissipation capacity. Under the strong earthquake, support is aheadof the main structure for the hysteretic energy consumption, plays a main role in theprotection of the main structure.Fristly this paper introduces the anti-buckling support structure,the principleof energy dissipation and damping, and domestic and international research andengineering applications.This paper describes the anti-buckling support,the overallstability of the core unit,and the buckling stability of the connection unittheoretically. Then from the perspective of construct factors, it analyzes affectenergy consumption performance of anti-buckling support, including the constructof the gap,the connecting section and the mechanical model.which used tocalculate the energy consumption.Secondly,this paper put pure reinforced concrete frame, steelsupport frame andanti-buckling support frame structure into a comparative analysis with the elasticstage and the elastic-plastic stage.using SAP2000finite element software. Includingto the Hefei University of teaching building seismic strengthening instance,by theresponse spectrum analysis,show that in areas of high intensity, anti-bucklingsupport lies not fully plastic stage,but it has been able to consumpt energyeffectively. Time history analysis,uses nonlinear analysis of under multi-earthquakeand severe earthquakes, and focuses on the the research plastic state anti-bucklingsupport under major earthquake.It is indicated that the anti-buckling supportconsumes a lot of energy in the plastic stage owing the great effect of energydissipation.This paper uses the analysis of energy,structural deformation,base shear and support axial-force.Finally,use the pseudo static test data of the Structure Laboratory of TongjiUniversity,research the load-deformation of the hysteresis curve,and get theconclusion that single support member has a good effort of energy dissipation.In summary, the anti-buckling support is superior to ordinary steel support,andhas the ability to avoid buckling in the seismic effect. The anti-buckling support issuitable for the extensive use of new and strengthening works, is an excellentenergy dissipation and damping components.
