Modern turbines are developing for a high performance、high load、high water head. Itput forward more stringent requirements for us on the research and design of turbine in thistrend. As the core component of hydropower station, the turbine plays a decisive role for theeconomic benefits of the hydropower station. China’s turbine technology has been quitemature, but with the support development of the hydropower, the hydropower station istoward polarization to the high water head, low water head.It plays a very important role inthe development of the high water head on water resources for water turbine with long-shortblade.It failed to resolve the technical problems and lead to low efficiency of hydraulicturbine units for some domestic and foreign hydropower.It not only damage the turbine flowcomponents, but also influences the economic benefits of hydropower station. Therefore, thestudy of water turbine with long-short blade have great economic value.This study is based on a water turbine of low specific speed of a hydropower station asthe research object, by means of NUMECA company’s FINE software simulate thethree-dimensional flow field of the turbine with short blade or not, obtained the flowcomponents of pressure distribution, velocity distribution, flow field distribution. Obtain heshort blade on low specific speed turbine hydraulic performance through the comparison andanalysis both similarities and differences with short blade or not.The specific work is as follows:一、Established the whole flow passage of hydraulic turbine model according to the turbineflow passage design drawings with the help of3D modeling software UG. The maincomponents include: volute, water guide mechanism, runner, draft tube, respectively, putthem into AutoGrid5and IGG, grid the flow components.二、With the help of the FINE-Euranus module of CFD software simulate the hydraulicturbine components for three-dimensional flow field calculation, which got thethree-dimensional flow field calculation results of two turbine in different conditionswith the short blade or remove the short blade. Which need to set the turbine boundarycondition, parameter selection, calculation condition.Boundary condition setting iscrucial for the success of the software.三、 By comparing the pressure distribution、velocity distribution of two conditions of flowfield in hydraulic turbine runner in the different operating mode,we Got the shortblade on turbine hydraulic performance with short blade or not.
