| As widely used general machinery, the centrifugal pumps play an important role in manyindustries. While the centrifugal impeller, which main function is to improve the static pressureand dynamic pressure of the liquid, as the main flow components of the centrifugal pumps, itsstructure have a crucial role to the internal flow of the impeller. To investigate the influence ofthe initial diameter of the splitter blades on the internal flow characteristics of centrifugalpumps, a steady and unsteady numerical simulation were carried out on the low-specific-speedcentrifugal pump with different initial diameter splitter blade based on Reynolds-averaged N-Sequations and the standard k-ε turbulence model. The pressure fluctuation at the circumferentialand radial sections of the volute was analyzed and the external performance and pressurefluctuation experiment were carried out. The experimental results were compared with that ofnumerical simulations. The main contents were as follows:(1) The whole flow fields of the low-specific-speed centrifugal with different initialdiameter splitter blades(49mmã€60mm and84mm) were modeled by the three-dimensionalsoftware Pro/E. Then the whole model of centrifugal pump was imported into the Gambit formeshed and then simulated by the CFD software FLUNET.(2) To investigate the effect of the centrifugal with different initial diameter splitter bladeson the performance, the steady flow fields in three model pumps have been simulated. Theunsteady flow fields in three model pumps were simulated at design point based on SlidingMoving Mesh, and the pressure fluctuation was monitored on the volute wall and cross-section.(3) At different time, the pressure fluctuation was analyzed at each monitor points alongthe circumferential and radial direction on the volute wall and cross-section. The frequencydomain distribution was obtained based on Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). The effect of thecentrifugal pump with different initial diameter splitter blades to the pressure fluctuation wasalso analyzed.(4) The external characteristic curves H-Q and η-Q for centrifugal pump were obtainedthrough external characteristic experiment, and the pressure fluctuation experiment was alsoconducted to analysis the pressure fluctuation along the volute circumference to reveal theinternal flow law. |
