400Hz power system is widely used for navigation, communications, medical, aerospace, military, and many other areas. The particular applications and the complexity loads make itspower quality condition seriously. The widely use of inductive loads impact on active poweroutput capacity of the power system. In view of the above two problems, this paper puts forwardthat the power quality detection method and static reactive compensation scheme for400Hzpower system. According to these theoretical methods, a device, integrates functions of powerquality monitoring and reactive power compensation was realized. The device can monitorvoltage, current, active power, reactive power, power factor, frequency, THD,2~18timesharmonics, and so on. TSC system has been used for automatic reactive compensation. The paper firstly introduces the overall scheme of the device, and the design of reactivepower compensation circuit. Then it introduces hardware modules of the device, including thecontroller based on TMS320F2812, Ethernet communication module, compound switch, regulateboard. Then, the interpolation algorithm for harmonic analysis based Hanning windows has beendiscussed, and the simulation results show that the algorithm is efficient and feasible. The paperalso introduces the IEC voltage flicker meter for400Hz power system and simulated thealgorithm, the results show that the IEC voltage flicker meter has high accuracy. The paper alsointroduces reactive power compensation strategy. At last, it introduces some tips for therealization of the device, and some test has been taken for basic functions of the device, the testresults show that the functions of the device meet the requirements.
