With the increasingly serious problem of environmental pollution and energy shortagebrought by the traditional fuel vehicles, pure electric vehicles are getting more and moreattention by the world because the advantages of zero emission, low noise, and so on,.Powerlithium battery is the most suitable energy carrier for the pure electric vehicle for it’sincomparable advantages comparing with other batteries. However, lithium battery needs acorresponding management system to ensure the safety working.Based on the analysis of the existing problems for lithium battery in the process of using,and the existing battery management system scheme, the paper research on a pure electricvehicle lithium battery management system. The chip PIC18F4680is used as the main board,which has good stability and strong anti-interference ability; the advanced lithium managementcontrol chip OZ8920is used as the cell detection board. The centralized-distributed networktopology structure and modular design idea are adopted to improve the reliability, the scalabilityand the maintainability of the system; Because of the pure electric vehicles’ complex and harshwork environment and the strong electromagnetic interference feature, the software andhardware combined control method is used to make that the system has strong anti-interferencecapability, high reliability and good real time performance.Based on the design of the communication module, the charging and discharging controlmodule, the balanced module and the insulation detection module, the paper analyses the mainprogram, the protection software, the SOC calculation program in the form of flow chart.Finally, the battery management system functions are tested under the laboratory condition toverify the practicability of battery management system.
