The product and reservation of tower crane have been increased greatly, while thenumber of the accident is rising at the same time especially the collision of tower crane. Howto prevent the collision of the tower crane is an important matter for safety guarantee. In orderto reduce collision between obstacles and tower crane,raise the efficiency of tower craneoperation, the paper proposed solutions for the intelligent avoidance system. The obstacles intower crane working area have a complex structure, the traditional tower crane monitoringsystem use method which restricting the tower crane operating area to prevent the collisionbetween obstacles and tower crane and avoid the obstacles with the driver operation, thetraditional tower crane monitoring system also have low efficiency and high energydissipation. Aiming at the above problems, a new intelligent avoidance algorithm whichobstacles and towercrane is proposed to achieve intelligent control of tower crane. The mainwork and results are as follows:1. Modeling analysis to the obstacles which in tower opportunity zone territory andanalyse its feasibility.2. Proposes against collision’s solution between tower crane and the obstacles and dothe specific calculation.3. This paper propses an avoidance algorithm which is based on efficiency and savingenergy and gives the specific calculation.4. Build hardware and software development platform based on ARMs3c2410. 5. Developing an enter system interface which based on QT(a kind of interfacetechnology whitin Linux environment). The enter system can help tower crane recoqnise theobstacles and prevent the collision with the obstacles.6. This paper propose the system design and detailed design to intelligent avoidance,usesystem programming ARM-LINUX-GCC and debugger of GDB to develop and debug theintelligent avoidance.7.Carry on the debugging the hardware system and carry on the test to the softwaresystem.At last, the whole system is operated and tested and the results prove that the system hasrealized the proposed target, and fulfill the designing requirements.
