The new energy has a very good developing opportunity due to the gradually scarcity oftraditional energy sources and the deteriorating of global climate. Wind energy has becomethe most important alternate energy source and has experienced increased growth in Europeduring the past decade while more recently, the same trends have been exhibited in China.Although it has great potential as an alternative to less environmentally friendly energysources, there are various technical challenges that cause wind to be regarded negatively bymany utilities. Others are hesitant to accept its widespread implementation, particularly whenthe penetration of wind in a given area is high.The problems of wind are associated with dependence on the local environmentalconditions. Variability of the wind speed causes oscillations in the output power of the windgenerators, resulting in a variety of consequences within the power system and in its operation.Although some power control can be enacted using mechanical means, this usually implies adecrease in overall power capture and during calm conditions, these solutions can no longeroffer any improvement over the situation, so output power of the wind generator is influencedgreatly by the intermittent of the wind resources. The technology of the energy storage canimprove a series negative influence caused by the intermittent of the wind resources.Firstly, this paper expounds briefly the output power of the wind generator influenced bythe wind speed and the imbalance of the load power consumption at the time. The method ofusing energy storage equipment to control the flows of the active power in the DFIG system issdopt. Secondly, this paper introduces the principle and operation characteristic of the DFIGand discuss deeply the control method based on a mathematical model of the two phaserotation coordinate. Finally, The control strategy of the research of the DFIG taking energystorage equipment is discussed. The simulation results ware analyzed. Various advantages areexhibited for the wind turbine with energy storage. Firstly, the generator is capable ofaccurately controlling the output power of the generator and inevitably of the wind park. Reactive power requirements are also reduced as a result of a more stable voltage at the pointof interconnection. In addition, improved transient performance is exhibited for various localdisturbances.
