New Perforated H-shaped steel dampers, as a new type of mild steel damper,not only has the common advantage, that is clear energy dissipation mechanism, fullhysteresis curve, the stability of performance, easy device installation and removal,but also has its special features, that is the direct use of H-beam to avoid residualstress and residual displacement because of welding between energy-consumingsteel plate and the upper/lower connecting plate, facilitate large-scale production,quality easy to guarantee.This article describes the status of the mild steel hysteretic dampers at homeand abroad, the Perforated H-shaped steel dampers uses H-shaped steel for thematerial. Perforated H-shaped steel dampers in a single row of holes or multiplerows of holes is designed to research the influence of the limb width, limb height,Perforation type and hole rampant/vertical spacing, hole radius, hole arrangementform and other parameters on Perforated H-shaped steel dampers, then easy tooptimize the shape of the damper. Choose new Perforated H-shaped steel dampers indiamond hole NPSD2as the research object to study the sismic performance offramework structure with it. Effects of the damper parameters on framework isanalysised and the installation and the framework structure with and without the newperforated H-shaped steel dampers is compared. The results show that:(1) New Perforated H-shaped steel dampers yield displacement is smaller,especially the damper in multi-row hole, between0.4and0.65. because of it, thedamper can enter yield state to dissipate the energy of the earthquake input structureto protect the main structure.(2) The hysteresis curve of New Perforated H-shaped steel damper is full. Ifthe damper parameters is changed, the initial stiffness、yield stiffness and equivalentdamping ratio of the damper would be differente. in addition to this, the hysteresiscurve will also change, but the yield displacement is almost no difference.(3) Relative to the pure frame structure, the drift angle of Framework structurewith the new Perforated H-shaped steel dampers is decreases. However the layershear is reduced at the damping parameters SR in the range of [1-7]. if SR is greaterthan7, the layer shear of individual layers will be enlarge. The damping rate of the structure is larger and the layer shear is samller when Dampers evenly arrangedalong each layer...
