Dual Clutch Transmission is a new type of automatic transmission whichdoesn’t need to cut down the power transmission during gear shifting, so DCT isexcellent in shifting comfort property, fuel economy and transmission efficiency.Currently,DCT has become the focus of transmission research. The study of keytechnologies of DCT systems, and the development of DCT with independentintellectual property, have great practical significance to promote the developmentand technological process of automotive industry of China. In this paper, the research is carried out relying on the project hosted by "Vehicle Engineering Technology Research Institude of Hefei Univercity OfTechnology".1.Analysis of different types of automatic transmission, advantages, disadvantages and development direction. Description of the key controltechnology of DCT and domestic&international development.2.Introduction of the details of structure and working theory, research of thepower transmission on every gear.3.Establishing dynamic models of DCT, engine and the whole car based on themathematic and logical relationship between defferent departments.4.The factors contributing to shift quality are analyzed, emulate models areestablished in Simulink. Based on the models above, the shifting process of DCT issimulated and researched with matching shift strategy established by Stateflow.Through the analysis of vehicle dynamic model,DCT automatic gearshifting, clutchs automatic switching process are realized. The simulation resultshave reflected the vehicle dynamics based on DCT and its shifting strategy, andproved the validity of the construction of the simulation model.
