The pneumatic ship unloader is common pneumatic conveying equipmentused to unload bulk material on the pier. It is a clean delivery device taking airas the medium for the transmission of material. The hydraulic suction arm isthe key equipment, and the quality of it has a direct effect on the efficiency ofthe pneumatic ship unloader. The poor work environment requires a very highreliability of hydraulic suction arm, which demands very high quality of thedesign of the hydraulic suction arm of Pneumatic ship unloader.This paper has described the working principle of pneumatic ship unloader,analysis of the process and the main parameters, as well as the treatment whenfailed. On this basis, the hydraulic suction arm of Pneumatic ship unloader isdesigned. And a new efficient fluidization nozzle is proposed. Then wedetermined the most dangerous working conditions that four arms extendstraight levelly. At last, we make analysis of the most dangerous workingconditions by force, and calculate the bending moment, torque of the whole armand each section and the force value of the junction.Make use of PRO/E toestablish3D model of the suction arm, and then import it to ABAQUS6.9-1software. Make analysis of the most dangerous condition that four arms extendstraight levelly for the displacement and stress contour. Find the maximumdisplacement and stress, probe the reason, and put forward to suggestions onstructural improvements according to the analysis report.
