With the increase of mining depth, degree of mechanization further improved, heatdamage problem is more and more obvious and endanger the safety of coal minehigh-efficient exploitation. Mine cooling has become a key research project of the miningindustry. This paper based on analyzing the existing mine cooling technology, puts forward anew method for local cooling on the coal road heading face: Vortex tube refrigeration coolingtechnology.Vortex tube is an easily used refrigerating device. Powered by compressed air, itproduces separate hot and cold air streams, the cold air streams can be used for cooling. Atthe same time compressed air will not cause environmental pollution in mine. At present theapplication research of vortex tube rarely involves mine cooling, related literature rarely seenalso reported.Based on the vortex tube for research object, in the theoretical analysis and summary onthe basis of predecessors’ achievements, this thesis designs different structures of vortex tube,and an experimental set up that includes experimental apparatuses and measuring system isconstructed. Discussing the performance of cold and hot energy separation on the vortex tubedesigned by different geometric constructions, and the performance curve has been drawn. Inthe experiments range gets the best proportion geometry relationship of vortex tube. Throughthe experiment, we can gets: In the experiments range, six nozzles vortex tube has the bestcooling performance, the vortex tube Length Diameter Ratio within the scope of L=20~40Dcan achieve the best refrigeration effect, cold flow ratios at35%the cooling efficiency is thebest, when the pressure is0.60MPa, cooling efficiency is the best.Based on the experimental results and the chilling requirement of the coal road headingface, designed a big vortex tube,which used to reduce the temperature of the working headingface. By experiments, when the vortex tube inlet pressure is0.60MPa、the inlet temperature is25℃, the lowest temperature of the cold end export is18.5℃,which can decrease the temperature of the working heading face.The article also analyzed the vortex tuberefrigeration system from safety, feasibility, economy, vortex tube in the local cooling of hightemperature mine has some application prospect.
