In the energy shortage, serious pollution of the actual environment, Light EmittingDiode (LED), as a new generation of Light source with many advantages, has receivedmore and more attention. In order to further promote the application of LED, thedevelopment of LED lighting related technologies is important. Therefore the researchon designing of LED illuminating system has important practical value.Although the traditional designing of illuminating system based on the theory ofoptical imaging, is simple in the principle, its structure is more complex. So thetraditional illuminating system can’t meet the requirements of the compact illuminatingsystem, and the problem of energy utilization ratio is not considered. Because of thebasic theory of non-imaging optics, i.e. the ètendue and edge-ray method, control theoptical system from the energy and light distribution, respectively. If the non-imagingtheory is applied in illuminating design, it is possible to simplify lighting systemstructure effectively and control of light energy. Thus realize miniaturization andefficience of the the illuminating system. In this thesis, the theory of non-imaging optics is summarized firstly. Lens withhigh uniformity and high energy utilization ratio are designed with the energy anddirection of the light as illuminating design parameters according to the known lightdistribution curve and light distribution requirements. For circular spot lighting that can meet the general indoor lighting, application ofConservation of energy to control the edge of the light combined with the traditionaloptical design software is proposed. It is possible to realize the design goal quickly andconveniently without complicated calculation. In this paper, the feasibility of themethod is proved taking shadowless lamp as an example. Finally, put forward thespherical array of light source, the design results can meet the application requirementsof shadowless lamp. For special lighting, based on the mapping principle, make mesh generation for lightsource and target surface. Energy is equal in the corresponding mesh. This method canrealize the various shapes of lighting spot design because lens surface is establishedgradually. The feasibility of the method is proved take street lamp that needs rectangular lighting as an example.
