With the continuous development of our economy, the amount of China’s energyconsumption has been No.1of the word wild. Coal and oil are China’s major energy. Withthe increase in energy consumption, China has changed into oil and coal importing country.Up to2011, China’s foreign energy dependence will be more than55%, which will give ourcountry’s energy security enormous uncertainty. Meanwhile, with the increasing pressure ofglobal climate warming, China had to seek new forms of energy. China is rich in windpower resources, which can reduce the burning of fossil fuels and the energy crisis causedby greenhouse gas emissions. In this paper, back to back dual PWM direct drive permanentmagnet wind power generation system is presented, and the maximum power point trackingand grid-connected control are studied.The speed of wind turbine has a great influence on the amount of power captured by it.This paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of several maximum power pointtracking (MPPT) methods and presents a novel MPPT control strategy aiming at having amore accurate control of wind turbine speed and enlarging the output power of the windpower generation system with direct-driven permanent magnet synchronous generator(PMSG). In this paper, a disturbance optimization method is added on the basement ofoptimal power/torque reference method, which can eliminate the effects on MPPT causedby parameters fluctuations and friction losses. A wind power generation system model witha PMSG was built by MATLAB/SIMULINK modulated by rotor magnetic field orientedvector control method.In the third chapter, LCL filter was studied and the element parameters was confirmed.In the last chapter, a3-phase inverter was used to implement grid connection. Results ofsimulation experiments proved that this LVRT strategy can have an efficient control ofsystem active and reactive power, and can also have a efficient protection of the windpower generation.
