To research the large deformation plastic dynamic response of stiffened-plates subjectedto blast loads, it starts with the establishment of the motion equations of both panels andstiffeners. Then solve the simultaneous equations to gain the deflection of every point on theplates. The dynamic plastic response of unstiffened square plates, single stiffened plates anddouble stiffened plates, cross-stiffened plates and double cross-stiffened plates under blastloading are discussed herein. The analysis indicates that there will be three models for thestiffened plates, depending on the relative rigidity of the stiffeners and the peak of the loadapplied. There are respectively global deflection model, local deflection model and theinteracting model between global and local deflection. In this paper, the local deflectionmodel of unstiffened plates is discussed first. The next step is to discuss the global deflectionmodel of the built-in square plates with one way or two way stiffeners (including singlestiffeners, double stiffeners, cross stiffeners and double cross stiffeners). Finally, it is the mainjob that the interacting model is discussed and that a common analytical method to deal withall models is attempted to be searched and utilized. The theoretical method of the research—first, the motion equations and calculationformulas for the permanent transverse deflection were derived in the simplified square yieldconditions between the bending moment and membrane force; secondly, the membranesolution was given by neglecting the influence of bending moment; thirdly, a simplifiedenergy solution for global deflection model of stiffened plates is presented. The study resultsare confirmed by the existing experiment results[30]. It shows that the analytical methodpresented in the paper can accurately calculate and predict the permanent deflection ofstiffened plates subjected to blast loads in a reasonable way.
