Long span steel-concrete composite continuous girder bridge has been developedgreatly and used popularly in the world wide on account of its good mechanical behaviorsand service performance and the good economic benefits. The shear connector is the keycomponent that ensures the concrete flange plate and steel box girder work together as awhole section, and it mainly transfers the vertical shear between the flange plate and boxgirder. At present the stud is the most widely used. The shear connector is in the complexcombined stress, and the researches on shear connector domestic and abroad were based onthe failure modes and slips in the push-out tests. This thesis referencing the Wuhan Erqi Yangtze River Bridge with the finite elementsoftware ANSYS establishing space finite element model to simulation analysis, studied thefollowing main contents and some impotant findings have been achieved as follows:The construction process of the long span steel-concrete composite continuousgirder bridge was simulated through the method of birth and death element, and the resultsshow that the shear of studs in the construction state was greater than that in thecompletion state, therefore it’s necessary to make the simulation analysis of the wholeprocess from construction state to completion state. In the construction process, the shearvalues of studs located each part’s both ends is the maximum, while that near the piers isvery small. In the completion state, the shear values of studs located the part’s both endswhile rising the temporary piers is the maximum. In completion state the finite element model was added the uniform temperature andtemperature gradient, the calculations show that the temperature loads affect the stress ofthe concrete flange plate and steel box girder greatly, while make no obvious influence tothe shear of studs generally except that located both ends of the bridge.Defining a nonlinear creep materials to simulate the creep effect of the concreteflange plate with eliding the construction process, the calculations indicate that the stressof steel box girder increase with time, while the stress of concrete flange plate and theshear of studs reduce with time, and the rates of influence decrease obviously with time.
