HongKong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is a large bridge linking HongKong, Zhuhai and Macau, and its construction has a very important strategic significance to promote the economic development of the three cities. The non-navigable bridge in shallow waters area of HongKong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge of is composite continuous box girder bridge, the shear connector used on which is the shear stud(022x250),currently domestic research for the mechanical properties of the size of shear studs is rather less. The property of the shear stud has grate affect to the force of bridge, so further research about it should be carried out.The paper describes in detail the definition and characteristics of the composite bridge, and lists several major forms of composite bridge, and recalls the history of the development of composite bridge in the world. Several kinds of shear connectors commonly used in combination structure are introduced, and analyzing the relationship between stress state of the shear studs and its failure mode.The main content of this article is the shear studs ultimate bearing capacity and load-slip curve. The research method can be used to carry out the push-out testing and finite element simulation analysis. The result of the push-out test can be normally used to work as the basis of bearing capacity design, but carrying out test need to spend a lot of money and time, and the test requires a higher experimental condition. Using the finite element calculation is province and effort, and the results are more accurate. This paper refers to the test specimen model of the British Standard (BS5400), at the same time in accordance with the relevant provisions of China’s steel structure code, design a pilot shear connectors with shear studs used in the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. The software ANSYS is used to calculate the stress of the shear connectors, getting the ultimate bearing capacity of the shear studs and load slip curve, and analyze the stress distribution characteristics of shear studs in concrete which is in the compressive state. In the case of changing the strength of concrete analyze its impact on the mechanical properties of the shear studs. Five kinds of load conditions shear stud along and cross the bridge to the direction of the shear force distribution trend can be obtained through load-slip curve used for Hong Kong, zhuhai and macau bridge shallow water single span combination girder bridge model calculation.and analyzes on the different load condition to the influence of shear distribution. The maximum internal force of loads shear stud is still in working scope when compared to load-slip curve, which indicate that the design and layout of Single span model shear stud connector is reasonable and safe.
