Aviation industry is the national strategic industry of P. R. China. The development ofgeneral aviation will play an important role in the progress of the whole country.Theseaplane,as one of the important applications of general aviation,is currently still in itsinfancy in China. With the successful test flight of Seagull300light amphibious aircraft, which marked that China’s amphibious aircraft technology has reached the advanced levelduring the European countries. The major work of this thesis is to use mumerical methodto verify a certain type of seaplane’s corner,sea-gauge,resistance and other hydrodynamicperformances in9conditions,each condition13kinds of speed when the seaplane takes offthe water, and ultimately present a layout of preliminary design. In this thesis, the commercial software FLUENT was used to simulate the flow fieldof seaplane on the water by solving the RANS equation with the base of RNGk model,VOF method and the dynamic mesh technology. Finally we educed thehydrodynamic performance of the model. With the comparison of experimental data intowing tank, the result of this study is veracious and credible, which also shows thefeasibility of simulating and predicting the high-speed rigid body’s hydrodynamicperformances by FLUENT.There are still many shortcomings needed improvements in this numericalsimulation, the precision of calculation is not enough. The work of this thesis laid afoundation and accumulated experience for the further research on the high-speed rigidbody’s hydrodynamic performance.
