Maneuverability is one of the important hydrodynamic performances of ships,which is closely related to navigation safety.Along with the rapid development of shipping,harbor to accommodate ship’s enlargement and intensive continuous expansion,for many harbor construction of breakwaters in order to block flow and sand,after the completion of the breakwater under the action of nearshore reciprocating flow changes the local flow characteristics in waters near the breakwater entrance had obviously non-uniform flow field.Ships sailing in the non-uniform flow field changing its hydrodynamic characteristics,affecting the normal operation of the ship,and even lead to a maritime accident.With enhance maritime security awareness,for ships in the overhanging the non-uniform flow field at the entrance of the breakwater hydrodynamic research is necessary.With the rapid development of computer technology and the improvement of numerical methods,Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)has been increasingly applied to the studies on hydrodynamic performance of the ship.This paper selects recognized organization ITTC Series 60 hull(Cb=0.6)ship model as the research object,by using SIMPLEC algorithm incompressible RANS equation,viscous resistance of the ship has been calculated.The calculation results and ship model towing tank test data were compared,the results are in good agreement,to verify the reliability,feasibility ship and CFD methods.In this paper,numerical method of extended breakwater entrance non-uniform flow hydrodynamic research.Series 60 ship(Cb =0.6)using for the study,to simulate real ship scale.The commercial CFD software FLUENT is used to study,meanwhile,grid regeneration is dealt with by using the dynamic mesh method and sliding interface technique.Subsequently,the current velocity and ship’s speed changes on non-uniform hydrodynamic flow field are calculated,the influence of these two factors on sway force and yaw moment are illustrated.The numerical methods proposed in this thesis can qualitatively predict to the ship hydrodynamic conditions on the breakwater entrance of extended non-uniform flow.It can provide certain guidance on safe maneuvering and control of ships in the waters near the entrance breakwater.The results presented in this thesis can also give a reference to further study of non-uniform flow problem under complicated conditions.
