The article is researched on the “Electric drive crawler bulldozer” project, which is setby the Institute of Shantui Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. It concludes the study on the keyperformance parameters matching. The purpose of this project is to develop a newenergy-efficient crawler bulldozer which can reduce emissions and improve fuel efficiency.The electric drive crawler bulldozer is different from the ordinary crawler vehicles.Crawler bulldozers offer a number of specialties such as working environment and operatingmode over the ordinary crawler vehicles and present great potential to apply the electric drivetechnology. Crawler bulldozers work at low speed, heavy workload, short transport distanceand operating in a cycle, so these different characteristics make the crawler bulldozer designmore different. Firstly, on the basis of all the special factors and the characteristics of theelectric drive armored vehicle, electric drive dump truck and hybrid vehicle indicate that it ismeaningful to apply the electric drive technology in the crawler bulldozer. The electric drivecrawler bulldozer power train and the assembly parts selecting were studied. This part isabout the electric drive crawler bulldozer technology data, which is the basic of tractionperformance. Again, in view of the determined overall configuration and the characteristics ofpower assembly, the analyses of traction performance and parameters matching were studied.At last, combining the above researching, using the simulation software ADVISOR2002tomatch the power train parameters and researching the simulation results.In this paper, the study on the key performance parameters matching for the electricdrive crawler bulldozer provides the theory basis for the further powertrain physicalexperiment and the design of the sample bulldozer, and has significance in both theory andpractice for the research and development of the electric drive crawler bulldozer.
