The performance of dumbbell-shaped filled steel tube (CFST) arch rib is complex, and ittheory significance and ngineering practical value to do the research of the design andconstruction of the node of CFST arch bridge.Firstly, the FEM software MIDAS/Civil was used for numerical analysis on stress stateand deformation in the construction of dumbbell-shaped CFST arch bridge so as to get thestress of arch rib at different construction stages. Secondly, making the theory and measureddata analysis on the stress of upper limb and pillar bottom of the arch rib node, getting thestress distribution of arch rib and pillar bottom of the node. Finally, the influences of PBLshear key on the mechanical behavior and stress transfer mechanism of dumbbell-shapedCFST arch rib and rectangular steel tube column joints was investgated by using FEMsoftware ANSYS. The results from numerical analysis can provide a theoretical basis for theoptimization design of CFST joints. The main research achievements and conclusions of thispaper are as follows:1. This paper makes a finite element simulation analysis on the construction of CFSTarch bridge by using finite element software MIDAS/Civil to calculate the results and guidethe on-site construction, and ensure the safety of the bridge in the construction and the qualityof construction. The objective of the analysis is to provide protection for the later normaloperation.2. According to the theoretical and measured data on the stress of upper limb and pillarbottom of the arch rib node, it can be found that the stress distribution of the arch rib node isuniform, the stress of the measured data and theoretical calculation is close to each other,even the latter is slightly lower than the former.3. A local finite element analysis on the dumbbell-shaped CFST and the rectangular steeltube column joints is investgated by using the finite element analysis software ANSYS. Bycomparision on node stress and deformation condition of dumbbell-shaped arch rib whichinstall PBL or not inside, the influence of PBL for node stress is done. The results providetheoretical basis for the node design and study in future.
