When a car drives on connection segment between bridge and tunnel of the highway on the mountain,it is influenced significantly by the wind. When the wind flows through the canyon, it will accelerate theflow rate. By the same time, the influence of the surface will cause a greater fluctuating wind, the averagewind flows with a fluctuating wind. Especially when the car driving at a high speed, the aerodynamic sideforce in the horizontal gale role will cause the wheel side slip and non-steady-state steering. Therefore, canyon wind has an important influence on traffic safety. Since the academic world lacks study on thissystem at home and abroad, this paper attempts to analyze the upper hand features on the connectionbetween the bridge and tunnel segment to reveal the mechanism of the Traffic Safety.Firstly, this paper uses the three-dimensional viscous unsteady incompressible NS equation and k-ωturbulence model, and utilizes the finite volume method using FLUENT software to establish thenumerical calculation model of the role of cross-wind air flow field around the mountain highway bridgeand tunnel connection, to analyze the wind characteristics on different spacing of bridge and tunnelconnection, as well as the laws of the influence of the canyon spacing on the wind characteristics, to obtainthe sections affected the most by the cross-wind and the characteristics of the wind speed, in order to betterprepare the traffic safety research in term of practical engineering and the method of improvementmeasures.Secondly, this paper utilizes the CATIA software for numerical simulation of three-dimensional carmodel based on certain assumptions and simplifications. It uses not only the HyperMesh to conductmeshing, but also the STAR-CCM+to analyze the drag coefficient, lift coefficient and the coefficient ofside force of the car in a typical operating conditions using different speed when it subject to wind flow bythe outer surface of the vehicle, and to compare this typical situation with the conditions of no wind speed. It also studies the pressures of the vehicle surface and the reasons why so.Finally, this paper probes the importance of the reduced wind speed on the vehicle stability. And itproposes effective measures to improve the vehicle stability impacted by the valley cross-wind, and tosignificantly reduce the impact of the valley cross-wind on vehicle stability through the analysis ofeffective measures propoesd.
