| Classical Murals emphasize the theme and symbolic color; While ModernMurals put more emphasis on the space and decorative color. As an importantformational language and a visual element to murals creation, color not only relates tothe shape, material and other elements of a mural itself, but also relates to the function,type, structure, style and other elements of the environment, to which a mural isattached. Strengthen the mural color in public space consciously would make viewersfeel different about the architecture space and thus to improve and coordinate theutilization of both the inside and outside of the architecture space visually andpsychologically. As the expressive language of mural art, the symbol and expressiveforce of color directly influence the theme quality and artistic effect of the works andthe poetic conception of the architecture space.Since the functions of mural color are multi-tiered for architecture space, thispaper combining the color characteristics of visual construction discuses about thepositive dynamic role of mural color to the existing architecture space from theperspective of space function. Through the development of mural color, it alsoinquires into the concrete application of space function based on relevant theories. Itis mainly divided into four parts to discuss about the space function of mural color.Matting for the analysis of the following four chapters, the first part focuses on theconcepts of murals and the origins of the historical development of the traditionalmural color both at home and abroad, which are precious cultural heritage for modernmural color creation.
