Porous medium burner with respect to traditional burners having a high thermal efficiency, high combustion rate, the low calorific value fuel can be burned, and the output of the high radiation, the uniform combustion temperature and a larger combustion equivalence ratio, to reduce CO2emissions and low pollutant emissions, etc.advantages. Baosteel Special Steel cleaner natural gas as fuel, the total gas consumption of165million cubic meters in2010, the natural gas energy costs accounted for32%of total energy costs, rising gas prices, rising energy costs. Therefore, Baosteel urgent demand for natural gas solar term technology. In this paper, the research of of efficient porous media burner design and develop a porous medium used in Baosteel furnace burner to natural gas solar term goal, to reduce the environmental pollution caused by the burning of to improve heating process.Based on the analysis of the status of Baosteel dual chamber furnace, designed based on the industrial applications of porous medium burner by numerical simulation optimization, combined with the dual-chamber furnace Baosteel Special Steel selected process conditions, design and processing industrial furnace with porous mediaburner, while the dual-chamber furnace transformation, porous medium burner successful application in the chamber furnace to meet the heating process requirements, solar terms of the amount of10%of the target temperature uniformity meet±10℃requirements, Baosteel to become the first domestic steel industry application of porous media combustion technology.
