The electromechanical actuator is a complex mechatronic system, and a high-precision position servo system, which has an important influence on the flight vehicle attitude control. With the development of science and technology advanced air-to-air missiles widely adopt full digital servo motor with the features of high speed, precision and power-weight ratio and good reliability and maintainability. In order to meet the requirements of high performance actuator system used by advanced medium-long-range air-to-air missiles, a servo system powered by permanent magnet synchronous motor has been developed, with actuator structure and control policy been designed and studied respectively.Aiming at the requirements of bank-to-turn (BTT) technology for future air-to-air missiles, the designed electromechanical actuator integrates the aerodynamic control with the thrust vector control, and the thrust vectoring nozzles can directly product body rolling moment. Compared with brushless DC motor, PMSM is more suitable as a power source for high-precision position servo system. The servo actuator loop has been analyzed on the discussion of the influence of the hinge moment, and the mathematical model and control method of the PMSM have been developed and studied, and a new vector control method based on the polar coordinate system has been researched. For further reduction of the actuator weight and improvement of the reliability, the sensorless control method has been used, and the speed/position observer based on the square root cubature kalman filter (SCKF) has been developed.Based on the environment of MATLAB/Simulink, the simulation model of the electromechanical actuator including SVPWM, PMSM and SCKF has been developed, with the verification and research been made.
