Compared with the traditional diamond circular saw blades, diamond wire saw has a series of advantages, such as high processing efficiency, easy to use, and relatively small impact on environment. Therefore, the diamond wire sawing was called a green processing. The flexible structure of the diamond wire saw produces vibration phenomenon in the cutting process. But the relationship between the vibration and wear of the diamond wire saw is still not been studied yet. The thesis focuses on this point.In this paper, vibration signals in the sawing process of the diamond wire saw are collected with laser displacement sensors, while the wear of diamond beads are monitored with3D video systems. First, the impact of processing parameters on the vibration of the diamond wire saw is researched. Based on this, two processing parameters with obviously different vibration states are chosen, and wear of beads are observed under these two processing parameters. The main research conclusions as follow:1. Wheel speed has significant impact on the vibration frequencies in sawing process. The first-order vibration frequency is the product of wheel speed and the number of bead per unit length of wire saw. In contrast, feed speed, tension and space of guide have little effect on vibration frequencies in sawing process.2. Machining parameters have significant impact on the vibration amplitude of wire saw. The vibration amplitude of wire saw decrease with the increase of feed speed, wheel speed and tension. However it decreases with the increase of guide wheel space. Tension has most important effect on the vibration amplitude of wire saw.3. Compared the vibration of diamond wire in two different machining parameters, it is found that the vibration frequencies of the wire saw are almost no changing, but vibration amplitude are gradually increasing as increasing of the cutting area.4. The wear rules of wire saw are similar under two different processing parameters. The wear value in the front of bead is much greater than that in the others parts and height of protrusion of diamond on the bead surface maintain stable. Wear characteristics of diamond grits on the bead surface also maintain stable after early strong wear.5. Compared vibration and wear of wire saw in different processing parameters, it is found that the wear of beads are more serious and the life of wire saw is shorter when processing parameters with larger amplitude is used.
