The maintenance policy of the repairable system is an essential aspect in thereliability mathematics. It is a popular topic to study the model of preventive repair withrepairman vacations. In order to prolong the running time of the system, a preventiverepair before the system failure is considered. On the base of the references, the paperconnect breakdown maintenance with preventive repair applied in repairable system, andassumed preventive repair can be “as good as new”, while breakdown maintenance is not“as good as new”, studied several preventive repair policy with repairman vacations.Firstly, preventive repair policy of repairable system with single vacation and delayrepair is studied. A repair can be delayed with a probability of1p, the replacementpolicy of the system is considered based on the failure number. By using the renewalprocess theory, the system long-run average cost per unit is derived, and compared withthe expected cost of non-preventive maintenance policy. The optimal maintenance policyis exist to minimize the objective function by the numerical example.Secondly, based on repairman with multiple vacations, repairable system with only atype of failure and two types of failures in preventive maintenance policy were discussedrespectively. The maintenance policy is adopted by the failure numbers of the system, theexplicit expression of the long-run expected cost per unit time is derived, and the period ofthe preventive repair, the time of repairman vacations and the maintenance policy of thesystem are discussed.Thirdly, a cumulative shock model of a repairman with multiple vacations andperiodic inspection is studied. In order to prolong the running time of the system,preventive repair during the inspection time is considered. The two-dimensional decisionvariables based on the periodic inspection and the failure number, select the expected costof the long-running unit time as the objective function. And obtained the optimal policythrough numerical analysis.Finally, preventive repair policy of series repairable system with multiple vacations isstudied. The maintenance policy is adopted by the failure numbers of components bound of the expected cost, select the system after a long-running unit time average downtime asthe objective function, nonlinear programming models are established.
